About

Matt is a self taught artist from South West Victoria, Australia. Matt 's passion for art began in 2014, when he  started leisurely drawing while studying Primary School teaching at University. Over time his passion grew and his unique ability to capture emotion and likeness of sports stars turned into something more than just a hobby.

In 2017 Matt began selling some of his work. What started off as selling the occasional original and a few cheap "photocopies" quickly turned into creating limited prints created on quality 300gsm sheets, and selling to individuals and collectors all around Australia, and in some cases the world.

It wasn't until March 2019 when Matt decided to put his talents to use using colour pencil. Drawing in colour was something he had always wanted to do, but being self taught, was always reluctant to dive in an attempt this step up from grey on paper. His first piece, a 1997 depiction of Kobe Bryant was relatively popular and gained some attention from basketball fans around the world.

Matt continued using colour and began to notice improvements in each piece he created. A lot of Matt's works have been of AFL players and NBA players, with his most popular piece to date being a depiction of Michael Jordan from 1996.
